HOUSTON - The University of Houston soccer team will officially report back to campus on Tuesday, as the team gears up for preseason workouts and preparing for the upcoming season that is just two weeks away.

The Cougars are set to commence preseason workouts on Wednesday, practicing twice a day at the Carl Lewis International Track & Field Complex.

With eight newcomers to the squad, second-year head coach Susan Bush and her staff are working to develop team chemistry while allowing the returners and newcomers to get on the same page.

Houston will play one preseason tune-up against cross-town rival Houston Baptist at 7p.m. on Aug. 16 at the Car Lewis Complex. The friendly match will be open to the public, and fans are urged to attend.

The Cougars open the season at 7 p.m. on Aug. 22, when they square off against UTSA at Robertson Stadium.
