AUGUST 12, 2013
Senior keeper Cami Koski here giving you a closer look into Houston Soccer.
I am a fifth-year senior this year, having redshirted my freshmen year. I just graduated with a degree in Health and minor in psychology.
During the fall semester, I'll be finishing up my prerequisites for nursing school before I exhaust my eligibility.
Stay tuned all season long as I'll be blogging once a week during season so make sure you come back to hear about your favorite Coogs!
Wow, first our preseason game is in the books, and my last one at that!
It's so exciting to finally get back out there and see how the team looks after only a few practices. Time has flown by the past week and it's awesome to see all the different personalities show as we get to know each other better.
We traveled 28 this weekend, which was 8 more than our standard travel squad so it's been a lot to keep up with. We had a fun pool stretch Saturday night and team dinners are always a good time to learn more about the person sitting next to you or reminisce on old times.
I thought the game went really well and it was great to get a win and a shutout on the road. We didn't work on offense very much this week but still put one on the board and created a number of chances for ourselves.
Everyone logged minutes and got their butterflies out for the start of the season.
As far as practice goes we haven't had too many injuries and the work ethic has been pretty high even though our legs are tired.
Big game this Friday against our crosstown rivals, Rice. This is our first time playing against each other while in different conferences so it's strictly for bragging rights!
We got home late last night so I know we'll all enjoy the morning off and come back this afternoon ready to work.
Signing off until next week,
- #0 Cami Koski
