AUGUST 19, 2013
Senior keeper Cami Koski here giving you a closer look into Houston Soccer.
As preseason comes to a close, I can honestly say we've learned a lot this past week.
We've learned that Luby’s breakfast means Turkey sandwiches at 10 am and that Kylie and I are not cut out for delivery services, as we spilled at least two gallons of Powerade on the floor.
We learned to never assume the coaches are not attending dinner and eat all the food or we will run until we can't stand.
The freshmen clearly learned how to pump the balls, and by pump I mean over pump. Just imagine trying to head a medicine ball. Needless to say there were a few post practice migranes.
We learned how many players we can fit in one van in the pouring rain because “Stoerkels” [assistant coach Mike Stoerkel] broke down en route to Rice, which unfortunately was cancelled.
Most importantly, I think we learned how to work as a team.
We had an intrasquad scrimmage yesterday and everyone continues to push each other to the next level. I'm looking forward to finishing up this week with a lot of intensity and heading into our first games on a strong note.
Signing off until next week,
