HOUSTON -- After earning a 2-1 victory on the road at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday, Houston Soccer will return home to host the Georgia Bulldogs Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Carl Lewis Complex for its 2013 home opener.
The Cougars, who enter Sunday's game with a 1-0-0 record, will welcome Georgia (0-1-0), who is coming off a 2-0 loss at the University of Texas Friday evening.
LAST TIME OUT
In Houston's 2-1 win at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, the Cougars received goals from senior Kylie Cook and junior Kayla Walker with assists by junior Alexis Weaver and senior Jasmine Martinez. Senior goalkeeper Sydney George earned her second career win in the net, collecting three saves, while playing all 90 minutes of action.
Five newcomers made their Houston debut on Friday night, including two freshmen in Shayne Clewett and Megan Goh, who earned their first collegiate start for the Cougars. Of the 31 rostered players, Houston returns 20 from a year ago and welcomes in 11 newcomers, five of whom are NCAA Division I transfers, who are all eligible to compete this season.
Georgia is 0-1-0 after a loss at Texas in its season opener. The Bulldogs will remain in the Lone Star State after firing off seven shots, four landing on goal in Friday's loss. Goalkeeper Caitlin Woody played all 90 minutes in goal, collecting seven saves in the loss after allowing two goals to the Longhorns. Texas outshot Georgia, 17-7.
Georgia wrapped up 2012 with a record of 7-11-2, finishing sixth in the SEC East and T-11th overall. The Bulldogs return six starters and 15 letterwinners from a year ago, while welcoming 15 newcomers to the squad.

COUGAR CAMPER DAY
The University of Houston Soccer program welcomes back Cougar Campers who took part in a camp this summer with free admission into Sunday's home opener vs. Georgia. All campers are encouraged to check in at the main entrance to receive free admission.
2013 SEASON TICKETS
A season ticket package is available for $50 and is good for all seven home matches. The tickets are also part of a flexible ticket package that is good for any game. With the flexible ticket package, fans are given the opportunity to either use one ticket for each home game or multiple tickets to a few games.
