Summer is officially over and I'm ready to start my last fall semester at Houston.
Unfortunately, today I will be learning about PRP injections. After two surgeries on my left knee I have worn down my cartilage so much that I need to get platelet rich plasma injected in order to play pain free this season.
I guess the tender age of 22 is hitting me hard!
The recovery should only be about two days so I'll be back on the pitch by Friday.
The opening weekend ended with a win and a loss against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Georgia, respectively.
Both games were hard-fought battles and eye openers to what we need to be working on for upcoming matches.
It was fun to go to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and play their home opener in a brand new stadium. Kylie and I had fun toying with the sleepers on the way home, Coach included.
With an assist on Friday and another 90 minutes on Sunday, Alexis Weaver has been a stand out player throughout preseason. She came in the fittest I have seen her and has proven to be a force to be reckoned with in the midfield.
I love the passion she brings to the game and I know I can always count on her for a hard tackle.
Although we still have kinks to work out the team is playing better together as we're learning how to work off of each other. With only one game this weekend it will be a good time to hit it hard against SFA and get our legs back with a rest day on Sunday.
Until next time,
