HOUSTON — Houston Soccer’s Cami Koski was tabbed The American Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, announced by the league office Monday. The senior keeper recorded her program-best 16th career shutout en route to helping the Cougars to a 0-0 double-overtime draw with SFA on Friday.

Koski played an instrumental part in Friday’s tie, holding the No. 4-ranked Regional team in SFA scoreless, while collecting nine saves to now total 15 on the year. She recorded her first decision in goal in her first start of 2013 after playing the second half vs. Georgia back on Aug. 25.

“Being tabbed Goalkeeper of the Week is a well-deserved honor for Cami,” head coach Chris Pfau said. “She played a great game for us Friday night and came up huge when we needed her.  She is playing with a lot of confidence and I’m happy that she is getting recognition for her efforts!”

Friday’s shutout marked her 16th of her career – a program-best, while she continues to remain atop the career records in ties with eight and moves just three starts away from becoming the program record holder in that category as well.

Koski collected six saves in the first half, two in the second and one in overtime to help Houston to a 1-1-1 overall record.

Koski becomes the first Houston Soccer student-athlete honored by The American Athletic Conference, being tabbed Goalkeeper of the Week during the second week of play.
