HOUSTON, Texas - The University of Houston women's soccer team lost an emotional battle on Friday night losing to the North Texas Lady Eagles by a score of 5-4.

Freshman Nicole Aubuchon kicked off the scoring early for Houston with a goal assisted by Kristen Hogan at 9:34. The Lady Eagles would answer at the 37:48 mark as Carrie Kveton netted the ball on an assist from Emily Stevens.

Although North Texas would rally to score three more goals in the first half, UH fought hard to come back in the second half. Sophomore Lindsay Beiriger lead the Cougars in the second half scoring an unassisted goal at 52:12. Aubuchon scored her second goal of the night at the 60:53 to put Houston within one goal of North Texas, but UNT's Marilyn Marin scored the final goal for her team at 80:40 to put the Lady Eagles on top 5-2. Houston's Hogan went on to score Houston's final goal with less than a minute remaining in the match to make the final score 5-4

The Lady Cougars look to avenge their 0-3 home record with a victory over the UL Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 1 p.m. at O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium.
