Sept. 10, 2009

HOUSTON - The University of Houston soccer team returns home to Robertson Stadium after three hard-fought road matches to host the Texas State Bobcats Friday at 7 p.m. and the McNeese State Cowboys Sunday at 1 p.m.

Texas State currently holds a record of 2-3-0 and McNeese State stands 1-3-1 on the season.

The all-time series is in Houston's favor for both matches as the Cougars hold a 6-1-0 advantage over Texas State and a 2-0-0 record over McNeese State.

Houston squared off against Texas State last season in San Marcos, Texas resulting in a 1-0 victory over the Bobcats. This will be the first time since 2006 the two programs have matched up in Robertson Stadium.

The Cougars last battled McNeese State in 2006 as Houston notched a 3-1 home win over the Cowboys.

Home Game Promotions

Sept. 11, 2009- Campers Reunion/Military Appreciation

Campers who wear a UH soccer camp t-shirt along with all military personnel in uniform will be admitted into Friday's game for free. The ROTC of the University of Houston will set up booths and serve as the Color Guard.

At half time, Houston athletics will take a moment to remember the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001 as well as honor five current UH students who have served in the armed forces protecting our freedom.

Sept. 13, 2009- Scout Day

All Girl Scouts who attend will receive a Cougar Scout Day patch and will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities including the Kick Challenge where scouts get three chances to kick the ball into the net. The winner of the challenge will receive a coupon from Taqueria Arandas who will also be serving $1 tacos in their mobile station before the game.
