HOUSTON - University of Houston freshman forward Lauri Byrne (Southlake, Texas/Southlake Carroll HS) was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team, the league office announced Wednesday.

Byrne tied for the team lead with three goals this season. She tallied the game winner against both Louisiana Lafayette and Grambling State. She also closed out the season this past weekend with a goal against Colorado College.

She made 18 starts, had a pair of assists and led the teams in points (8) and shots (33).

Byrne is the ninth UH player to earn C-USA All-Freshman Team honors and the first since Courtney Gaines in 2005.
