Nicole Dickson
Nicole Dickson, a Houston-area native, begins her fifth season as an assistant coach for the Cougars. She serves as the team's hitting coach and works with the team's infielders. Houston was fourth defensively last season in C-USA. registering a .960 fiedling percentage, while on offense the Cougars racked up a .429 team slugging percentage and blasted 55 home runs, third in C-USA. Dickson came to Houston after working with the San Antonio Sports Foundation, where she served as the personal assistant to Vanessa Richey, the manager of the Community Olympic Development Program. She also participated in promoting events such as the 2007 Pan American Games, NCAA basketball men's and women's Final Four championships and the men's and women's NCAA Big XII Soccer Championships. A graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio, Dickson was a four-year letterwinner with the Tiger softball program. As captain, she helped lead her team to back-to-back conference titles in 1999 and 2000, while personally earning back-to-back All-Conference SCAC honors in 1999 and 2000. She also was a All-Region Second-Team selection in 1999 and 2000 and earned 2000 SCAC Academic Honors for her work in the classroom. During her career at Trinity, Dickson received a four-year Texas Italian-American Sports Foundation scholarship and was honored with the Jim Potter Sportsmanship Award. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology and a minor in business administration in May of 2000. She completed her master's degree at UH in education for sports administration, in May 2005. Dickson lives in Sugar Land, Texas. |
