Selena Hernandez put the ball in play as a run came across the plate on a Purdue fielding error to give UH their first score of the game.
Haley Outon hit a solo home run to lead off the bottom of the sixth inning cutting the lead to 5-2. It was the sixth homer of the year for Outon, the team leader in the category.
Diedre Outon went the distance throwing the complete game for UH dropping her record to 4-3 on the year. The UH defense turned two double plays in the game tying a season high.
