HUNTINGTON, W. Va. - The University of Houston Cougars (10-13, 0-2) were shutout 1-0 in the second game of the doubleheader at Marshall. Ty'ara Law received the loss in the pitchers duel despite allowing only three hits and no earned runs. Law fell to 1-2 on the season and she set a new career high for strikeouts in a game with five. The Thundering Herd (12-9, 2-0) took the first game from Houston on the strength of their pitcher Andi Williamson as she struck out ten Cougars in game one, and she replicated her number in the second game. Houston could muster only one hit in the game as they dropped consecutive games to Marshall for the first time in program history. Law kept the Houston squad in the game and pitched out of a jam in the fifth as a hit by pitch, an error and bunt single loaded the bases with only one out for the freshman. She was able to induce an infield fly and threw her 5th strike out of the game, to escape unscathed. UP NEXT
