SAINT LOUIS, Mo. - Crystal Briscoe struck out a career high 11 batters as the University of Houston softball team grabbed a 2-0 win over Saint Louis University in game one of a double header at the Billiken Sports Center Saturday afternoon.

The Cougars (33-22, 10-11 C-USA) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning as Arelis Ferreris drew a bases loaded walk from SLU pitcher Elizabeth Nielson which forced in Kristen Glowacz.

In the third inning the Cougars added the final run of the game with aggressive base running. Houston perfectly executed a double steal which saw Glowacz take home and Jeanie Davis steal second, putting the Cougars up 2-0. Glowacz finished the game with one hit, two stolen bases and two runs scored.

The two runs were all Briscoe needed. She pitched a complete game two-hitter while giving up no walks to improve to 10-9 on the year.
