HOUSTON - The University of Houston softball team posted 14-9 win over San Jacinto College Thursday evening.
The game marked the start of fall exhibition season for the Cougars with a tune up game before the Spring Klein College Classic
The Cougars used two six running innings, one in the first and another in the fourth to cruise to the victory. After getting ahead and using two pitchers, head coach Kyla Holas emptied the bullpen to get the entire staff some work.
"It was really good to get out there and see how some of these newcomers handled themselves," Holas said. "We can now assess what we need to do to improve and we have a baseline for where we are now, and where we expect to be after this fall season is over."
Houston heads to the Spring Klein College Classic this weekend with games against Texas A&M, Texas State and McNeese State on Saturday and closes out the competition with Sunday games against Baylor and Stephen F. Austin.
