Walk-Off Win Advances Cougars

HOUSTON - The University of Houston softball team prevailed 26-2 over Alvin Community College Tuesday evening in an exhibition game at Cougar Softball Stadium.

Houston jumped out to an 11-0 lead after the first two innings thanks to four home runs including back-to-back blasts by Reina Gaber and Haley Outon.

Outon added another timely shot in the sixth as she shortly followed Holly Anderson's homer and Houston piled up ten runs in the frame.

The Cougars scored in six of the seven batted innings and scored in six of the seven batted innings.

"We need to keep working on being competitive within ourselves," said head coach Kyla Holas. "We have a lot of room for improvement and that's where you want to be at this point of the year."

Houston hosts Galveston College at 3:30 p.m. this Friday to close out the fall season.
