Houston to Install Video Board for 2018

Oct. 26, 2017

HOUSTON -- With the generosity and support of the Diamond Club, the University of Houston Softball program and Head Coach Kristin Vesely are proud to announce an LED, Daktronics video board is coming to Cougar Softball Stadium in Spring 2018.

All funds for the project were privately raised through the Diamond Club, the restricted giving arm of Cougar Pride in support of Houston Softball.

“A state-of-the-art video board will immediately elevate the gameday experience for our fans and student-athletes,” Vesely said. “Fans will have the ability to see replays and the personalities of our players on the big screen, while the board’s capabilities also opens doors for in-game marketing and quality streaming opportunities.

“To have the one of the biggest video boards in the nation, we could not be more thrilled with the notoriety it will bring for us to share the direction we are moving as a program and athletic department. We want to thank all of our Diamond Club members for seeing our vision and investing in order to make this possible.”

According to Daktronics, the new outfield video board will be the fifth largest at an on-campus softball stadium in the country and the largest in the state of Texas.

“This will be an impressive softball video display for the University of Houston, one of the largest in the country,” Daktronics Sales Representative Dan Fjeldheim said. “Daktronics is honored to continue its partnership with UH and IMG. We look forward to seeing the display in action for the 2018 softball season.”
