HOUSTON - The University of Houston softball program announced two more camps scheduled to take place this winter.
The Cougar coaching staff will host a general skills clinic at Cougar Softball Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 10 a.m.
The general skills camp will cover all the basics of the game of softball including offense (hitting/slapping/bunting/base running) and defense (throwing/catching/position play) as well as game-like situations. The clinic is geared towards campers between the ages of eight years old and eighth grade.
The Dec. 10 camp will be the second-to-last instructional clinic hosted by the Houston Softball coaches and staff on UH campus. The last Cougar Softball clinic is scheduled for Jan. 7, 2012 and is for high school students only. The High School General Skills Winter Camp will cover the advanced skills of offense and defense. Campers will get a chance to experience the drills a Division I College Softball Player experiences day in and day out.
Head coach Kyla Holas will also take part in the American Freedom Softball Club Winter Clinic on Sunday, Dec. 18th in Richardson, Texas. Interested campers can visit American Freedom Softball Camps as more information will be available on UHCougars.com next week.
