Cougar Softball Set To Take On Team USA

HOUSTON - The University of Houston softball team is set to play host to the 2008 U.S. Olympic Softball Team in Memorial Park on Field No. 1 on April 8 at 7:00 p.m. announced head coach Kyla Holas this afternoon. "We are really excited about this opportunity," Holas said. "We are seeing it as a once in a lifetime event. Our focus will be to represent Houston in the most positive way possible, while giving Team USA an opportunity to improve their skills before representing the United States in Beijing." The stop in Houston is part of the Bound 4 Beijing Tour, which features over 45 stops around the nation as Team USA prepares to compete in Beijing in the 2008 Summer Olympics. The midweek matchup will be an exhibition contest for the Cougars this season. The 2008 season begins February 8 with a double header against Nicholls State on Cougar Field.
