Started her sophomore campaign by earning an NCAA `B' with a score of 259.60 to finish fifth in the 1-meter competition against Duke and Georgia Tech...Turned in a pair of second-place finishes her next time out against UNC-Wilmington and Emory in the 1-meter and 3-meter events with scores of 254.50 and 246.35, respectively...Finished seventh in the 3-meter and eighth in the 1-meter events at the Cougar Classic Fall Invitational...Notched third (295.97) and fourth-place (254.77) finishes against North Texas in the 1-meter and 3-meter events...Earned sixth place in the 1- and 3-meter competitions against SMU...Helped the Cougars defeat Tulane by taking fourth (260.10) in the 3-meter...Finished the 3-meter in sixth and the 1-meter in seventh against Texas A&M with respective scores of 239.86 and 254.78...Recorded a similar performance against Texas, placing seventh (245.40) in the 1-meter and sixth (278.48) in the 3-meter...Set her personal best mark at the Conference USA Championships, scoring 306.30 in the 3-meter competition, good for fifth...Placed ninth in the 1-meter event and sixth in the platform dive at the same meet...Qualified to dive in the NCAA Zone D Championships and placed 29th (225.10) in the 1-meter competition.

2008-09 Season
Took home a fourth and third place finish in her first collegiate meet against North Texas... Scored 232.42 in the 1-meter event and 261.90 in the 3-meter competition... Took home a fourth place finish in the 1-meter event at Oakland with a score of 264.07... Finished in third place in the 3-meter with a score of 278.92 and set a personal record... Placed third in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives against Rice and New Mexico State... Scored a personal best 265.50 in the 1-meter and a 268.58 in the 3-meter... Finished sixth at the C-USA championship in the 1-meter with a score o 239.45... Finished fifth in the 3-meter with a 272.40 score... Took home a fourth place finish in the platform competition and set a personal record with a score of 228.95... Only freshman diver to score at the meet... Finished No. 24 in the 1-meter springboard at the NCAA Zone Diving competition and 16th in the 3-meter board.

Graduated from National Sport School in 2008...Received bronze at the 2007 Canadian Junior National on 3-meter springboard under head coach Igor Paskov...was a five-time member of the Alberta Provincial Team...was a Canadian National Finalist on the 1-meter springboard...dove at the Canadian Olympic Trials on the 10-meter platform.

Born on May 4, 1990 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada...full name is Jessalyn Leigh Almond...daughter of Jennifer and Neil Almond...chose Houston for the academics and to be a part of the diving team...hobbies include hiking in Banff, Canada...also recruited by University of Arizona, Arizona State, and University of Arkansas... majoring in Kinesiology.
