2001-02 SEASON Posted the Cougars’ fastest time in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:07.27 at the Arkansas Invitational… Earned a first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly against North Texas with a time of 2:11.37…. Recorded UH’s fastest time in the 50 backstroke with a time of 28.39 during the first split of a relay event at the Arkansas Invitational… Swam the 200 IM at Louisiana-Monroe in a time of 2:12.39, the third fastest time by a Cougar swimmer in that event. HIGH SCHOOL One of the top swimmers for Stratford, one of the area’s top high school programs...state qualifier in the butterfly and backstroke...recorded the city’s top prep time in the 100-butterfly as a junior in 2000...coached by Brian Greeney...club swimmer who was also a Junior National Qualifier PERSONAL Born on February 26, 1983, in Houston...parents are Mark and Marie DeWitt...older sister, Kristina, is a swimmer for the University of Pittsburgh... Was recruited by Texas A&M, TCU and Missouri...favorite hobby is shopping...chose to attend Houston because of the “academic opportunities”...serves as a volunteer in the swimming division for the Special Olympics...nickname is “Nerd.” |
