2000-2001: Capped a standout season by reaching the championship final in the three events at the National Independent meet in Oakland, Michigan...finished second in the NICs in the 100-yard breaststroke...posted a career-best time of 1:05.46 in the event (NIC prelims), the best mark by a Cougar in three years and approaching one of the top times in school history...recorded a personal best in the 200-breaststroke (2:25.18) at the NICs (prelims) to finish sixth among a field of 32 competitors...placed seventh in the 200-individual medley with a personal-best 2:10.43...competed in the freestyle sprints during the course of the year and then displayed some versatility in winning the rugged 1,000-freestyle at the New Mexico State dual (January 9) in the altitude of Las Cruces...valuable member of the Cougar relay teams...scored with work in four different relay events at the NICs...swam the lead in the 200-freestyle relay and the breaststroke leg of the 200- and 400-medley relays...1999-2000: Helped lead the Cougars to a best-ever third-place finish at the NIC’s, scoring in three individual events and competing on four relays...reached the championship final of the 100-yard butterfly at the NICs, finishing in sixth place with a season-best time of 58.85...recorded the Cougars’ best time in the 100-breaststroke, winning the consolation finals at the NICs with a mark of 1:06.83...also finished 12th in the 50-free at the NICs and ended the year with the second-best time of any Cougar in the event (a career-best 24.41)...UH’s No. 2 swimmer in three events, including the 200-breaststroke and 100-free (where she posted a 53.04 on the first leg of the relay at the NICs)... swam the second leg of UH’s best medley relays and was the the No. 3 swimmer of the 200-free realy team that finished third at the NICs...1998-99: Completed an impressive freshman season...was one of the more versatile swimmers for UH head coach Ginger Hurley...posted the team’s top mark in the 50-freestyle, a time of 24.47 at the NIC’s...recorded the second-fastest time in the 1000-freestyle with a 10:44.74 at SMU...also had a 55.24 in the 100-free at SMU...recorded UH’s top times in both the 100-breastroke and the 100-butterfly (58.44 at NICs)...finished with 30.50 points at the NICs, which helped Houston take fourth place...her total was 34th best...captured third in the 200-free at the North Texas/Northeast Louisiana double dual meet, clocking a 1:59.02...helped pace the Cougars to a 164-42 versus UNT and 158-92 against NLU...also timed a 1:00.59 in the 100-fly against TCU...High School: Earned first team all-state honors as a senior, second team all-state honors as a junior and all-state honorable mention honors as a sophomore at Humble High School in Humble, TX...placed fourth at state in the 100-breaststroke...was named Most Valuable team member as a freshman, junior and senior...coached by Chuck Blackman...earned best performance times of 1:06.26 in the 100-breaststroke, 58.14 in the 100-fly, 24.73 in the 50-free and 2:15.18 in the 200-IM...swam for Blue Tide Aquatics under coach Mike Yearwood...also participated in water polo and received all-state and All-America recognition...member of the National Honor Society and the National Charity League...excellent student who earned a 1360 on the SAT and a 31 on the ACT...Personal: Born September 27, 1979, in Humble, Texas...parents are Ken and Donna Ebeling, who provide outstanding service in running the Cougar timing staff at home meets...volunteer worker in the food pantry at the Humble Area Assistance Ministries...also recruited by Western Kentucky, Illinois and Southern Illinois...major is match with a minor in informations systems development...chose to attend Houston because it is “close to home and an opportunity to swim at the college level.” UH Career Bests 100 Breaststroke 1:05.46 at NIC Championships (2/24/01) 200 Breaststroke 2:25.18 at NIC Championships (2/24/01) 200 IM 2:10.43 at NIC Championships (2/24/01) 50 Freestyle 24.41 at NIC Championships (2/24/00) 100 Freestyle 53.04 at NIC Championships (2/24/00) 200 Freestyle 1:58.08 vs LSU/Wright State (10/20/00) 1000 Freestyle 10:44.74 at SMU (1/30/99) 100 Butterfly 58.44 at NIC Championships (2/25-27/99)
