Became the eighth Cougar to be named Conference USA Freshman Diver of the Year ... Finished as runner up in the 1M (207.30), 3M (344.75) and in the platform (189.50) at the C-USA Championships ... Qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving competition and missed out on advancing to the NCAA Championships by one place - finishing ninth in the 3M ... Placed in the top four 11 of 12 times in the 3M competition, winning once at the Phill Hansel Invite (Nov. 17) ... Finished as runner up in the 3M five times ... Finished in the top six places in the 1M in all 11 competitions with three runner up finishes ... Placed second to teammate Julia Lonnegren six times... Named C-USA Diver of the Week (Jan. 10) after taking runner up in the 1M and third in the 3M at the Hawai'I Diving Invitational ... Picked up C-USA Diver of the Week (Feb. 7) after strong showing at No. 6 Texas A&M, took second in the 3M (339.08) and fourth in the 1M (314.93).

HIGH SCHOOL
Began her career as a gymnast before falling in love with the sport of diving six years ago and becoming one of her country's leading young divers...Since 2008, Burgess has twice qualified for Australia's Open Nationals, Elite Junior Nationals and New South Wales (NSW) Elite Junior Championships...Took top honors at the NSW Elite Junior Championships in the 3-meter and collected a third-place finish in the 1-meter competition...At the Diving South Australia (DSA) Elite Junior Championships, Burgess earned first place in the 1-meter and 3-meter events.

Burgess attended high school at Annesley College, while diving for Diving South Australia Club team coach Jeff Arbon.
