2009-10 Season
Turned in a third-place finish (4:42.41) in the 400-yard IM and finished first in the 400-yard medley relay (4:07.74) in the first meet of the season, the Phill Hansel Weekend Duals...Swam her way to sixth place in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:40.91) at the Duke and Georgia Tech Duals...Placed fifth in the 400-yard IM (4:38.45) in the dual meet against UNC-Wilmington and Emory...Set a trio of personal bests in the UH Cougar Classic in the 500-yard freestyle (5:09.90), the 200-yard IM (2:09.16) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.38)...Earned her highest finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle of the season by earning second-place in the event (10:50.29) against North Texas...Recorded fourth-place marks in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:28.54) versus SMU...Set her personal best in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:36.27) at the UH/Rice/LSU/Tulane Duals...Notched her personal record in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.07) to lead the Cougars in the event against Texas A&M by finishing second... Took third against Texas in the 100-yard IM (1:03.39) to post a strong regular-season finish...Clocked her personal best in the 400-yard IM (4:29.03) to finish 12th in the event at the Conference USA Championships.
2008-09 Season
Made her collegiate debut against North Texas... Finished fourth in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:00.60 and fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:29.57)... Placed second in the 100-yard IM against No. 8 Texas A&M in 2:16.82... Set three personal records at the C-USA championships in the 1,650-yard freestyle in 17:35.51, the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:25.01 and the 400-yard IM in 4:34.42... Very versatile swimmer as she competed in freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly and IM.
High School
Won the Most Improved award on her club team... High Point winner in high school... finished first in the mile long course at State in 2008... added a first place finish in the 200 breast stroke short course... was also a setter for the volleyball team.

Born Jan. 8, 1990 in Ruston, La... daughter of Jay and Peggy Newcomb... intends to major in sports and fitness... chose Houston for its swimming... also recruited by Incarnate Word and Centenary... hobbies include listening to music, dancing, hanging out with friends and movies.
