HOUSTON - Danielle Shedd finished sixth and Natasha Burgess took 10th in the 1M competition during the first day of the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships hosted at the University of Minnesota.

Shedd had a total score of 613.50 and moved up two spots from the morning preliminaries to finish sixth overall. The sophomore had yet to crack the 300-point threshold all year in the 1M until Converse, Texas, native turned in her best effort of the year and eclipsed 300 points in both the prelim and finals (300.35/313.15).

Burgess also improved upon her preliminary positioning as she went from 14th (279.75) to 10th (307.95) and finished with 587.70 points.

To qualify for the NCAA Championships, also hosted at the University of Minnesota (March 20-22), the divers must score a minimum qualification in at least one of the three diving events. The top nine divers from the Zone D meet will receive bids to the Championships.
