HOUSTON - University of Houston’s Taylor Olanski punched her ticket to the 2014 NCAA Championships as she took runner up in the platform event on the final day of the NCAA Zone D Diving competition.
Olanski’s two-round total combined for 625.10 points bringing a 320.45 score from the prelims and a 304.65 finals performance. She sat comfortably in second place after the prelims and was able to sustain her lead to grab one of the final qualification spots for the Championships.
She will be the lone UH diver advancing to the 2014 NCAA Championships and the 20th different UH diver to represent the Red and White at the NCAA/AIAW Championships since 1976. Julia Lonnegren was the last Cougar to compete at the Championships as she qualified in 2011 and 2012.
Olanski will compete at the 2014 NCAA Championships from March 20-22 hosted at the University of Minnesota.
