Pozdniakova Wins Silver and Bronze at 30th European Championships

College Station, Texas - The University of Houston diving team concluded competition at the NCAA Zone D Championships Sunday at the Student Recreation Natatorium on the campus of Texas A&M University.

Julia Lonnegren led all Cougar competitors on the final day of the meet, finishing fifth in the platform event with 492.55 points. Anastasia Pozdniakova trailed in 18th with 187.70 points and Lacey Truelove was 21st with 164.55 points.

Pozdniakova previously qualified for the NCAA Championships after winning the 1-meter and 3-meter events earlier in the competition. Truelove will also join Pozdniakova as the Championships after qualifying in the 3-meter event.

The duo will begin competition at the NCAA Championships on March 18-20 in Purdue, Ind., on the campus of Purdue University.
