    College Station, Texas-- University of Houston junior diver Anastasia Pozdniakova finished second in the 3-meter competition at the NCAA Championships Friday night in College Station.

    The Russia native finished with 386.10 points to take second place one day after winning the 1-meter event at the Championships. The finish is also the Cougars highest in the 3-meter event, since Pozdniakova was the runner-up in 2007.

    Courtney Forcucci also competed in the event and finished 33rd in the prelims with 238.10 points.

    Senior Sasha Schwendenwein finished 35th in the 200-yard freestyle prelims with a time of 1:47.15. It was the second of three events that she will be competing in at the Championships.

    The NCAA Championships will conclude on Saturday with Pozdniakova and Forcucci competing in the platform diving event and Schwendenwein will swim in the 200-yard butterfly.
