HOUSTON – University of Houston’s Taylor Olanski finished in 14th place during the platform competition at the 2014 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

The freshman from London, Ontario, advanced to the consolation finals where she finished sixth among the field. Olanski turned in a score of 288.20 during the prelims before posting her finals score of 269.00 for a combined 557.2 total.

Olanski’s efforts on the tower give Houston three points for the meet and places them among the Top 50 team scores as of Friday’s totals. With the 14th place finish, Olanski is the first Cougar since Lacey Truelove (2011) to earn points at the NCAA Championships. The Championships, hosted by the University of Minnesota, conclude Saturday night.

The meet caps off an impressive campaign for Olanski who won the platform event during the American Athletic Conference Championships and finished as the runner up in the event during the Zone D Diving competition. She was named First Team All-Conference for her work on the platform and also picked up Third Team honors from the league in the 3M event.
