HOUSTON - The University of Houston swimming and diving program fell 147-95 to Miami in a dual meet on Saturday.
Heather Winn was the top individual scorer as the junior took first in the 1,000 free (10:29.77) and second in the 500 free (5:09.39).
Fellow junior Laykin Lowry competed in both long distance free events as well, picking up a pair of third place finishes. The Magnolia, Texas native earned a third third-place finish in the 400 IM (4:45.17) to complete her grueling day of work and scored nine points for the Cougars.
Senior Reka Kovacs earned 12 points for Houston with her victory in the 400 IM (4:31.76) and a third-place finish in the 100 breast.
Houston has the week off before travelling across town to Rice for the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Med Center Invitational at the Rice Aquatics Center Oct. 26-27.
