More than 160 Student-Athletes Named to C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll

The University of Houston swimming and diving team dropped a pair of meets in the Dallas-Fort Worth area the weekend of January 26-27. On Friday UH fell to TCU by the score of 183-109. The Cougars won five of 16 events in that meet against its future Conference USA foe.

On Saturday Houston was defeated by SMU 141-96 at the Perkins Natatorium in Dallas. The Cougars were paced by the stunning debut of freshman diver Yulio Pakhalina, an international standout from Russia who won the Gold Medal in synchronized diving at the Sydney Olympics.

Saturday Pakhalina won both the one- and three-meter springboard events by over 100 points. The Cougar swimming and diving team will next face Rice on February 3 in its final meet of the year.
