    Houston Earns Wins Over Rice, Tulane

    Houston Leads Rice, Tulane After Strong Day One

    HOUSTON - The University of Houston swimming and diving team will take on the No. 9 Texas A&M Aggies in a dual meet for the Cougars' final regular season contest on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. Following the meet, the Cougars return to the pool next on Feb. 20-23 when UH hosts the Conference USA Swimming and Diving Championships.

    This meet serves as the last chance to improve the upon their seeding at the championships and heading into the weekend, several student-athletes are sitting among the top already.

    Senior Reka Kovacs sits in the No. 2 position among C-USA swimmers in four different events (100 & 200 breast, 100 & 200 IM). Fellow senior Kimmy Ballo ranks among the top three in the 200 back and 100 breast.

    The three Cougar divers (Julia Lonnegren, Natasha Burgess, Danielle Shedd) all rank among the top-three in the 3M and platform. The veterans, sophomore Burgess and senior Lonnegren, hold the top two spots in the 1M with Shedd checking in at No. 4 in the event.
