Houston Swimming And Diving Hosts Texas A&M

Feb. 4, 2010

HOUSTON - The University of Houston swimming and diving team will be back in the pool on Feb. 5 for a dual against No. 6 Texas A&M at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center Natatorium. The competition is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start.

The dual marks the first of the Cougars' final two meets of the regular season. The season finale will be Feb. 10 against Texas for the Second Annual Sprint for the Cure Meet and Senior Night.

Friday's action marks the second time this season that the Cougars and Aggies competed in the pool. Earlier this season, Texas A&M won the Cougar Classic Fall Invitational in Houston, while the Cougars took home a fourth place finish.

Houston is 3-8 this season in dual meets, while the Aggies enter the weekend with a 5-1 record.

Last weekend, UH hosted duals against Rice, Tulane and LSU. The Cougars finished the two-day meet with six individual victories, on their way to a win over Tulane. Freshman diver Julia Lonnegren won the 3-meter diving event, her first win as a Cougar, and went on to be named the C-USA Diver of the Week for her performance.

A complete recap of the action against the Aggies will be available at UHCougars.com.
