MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Houston Swimming & Diving program closed out the 2018 NCAA Zone D Diving Championships Tuesday afternoon at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatics Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

"Another solid day against some great competition," said Diving Coach Bob Gunter. "A great foundation is moving forward with Lauren. She will continue to grow and become more competitive, having had this experience. I've been very thankful to have had the opportunity to work with Micaela and all that she has brought to this program."

Senior diver Micaela Bouter posted a preliminary round score of 312.30, finishing in 11th-place to advance to the finals of the 3-Meter at Zones for the fourth consecutive year. Bouter moved on to the finals where she tacked on 302.45 more points to close out the event with a 15th-place finish. Bouter's best dive of the day came in her opening dive when she posted 61.50 points after successfully executing a Forward 2 ½ Somersault 1 Twist Pike.

Lauren Burrell finished the day with a 33rd-place finish in the preliminaries of the 3-Meter.
