HOUSTON - Taylor Olanski is set to represent the University of Houston at the 2014 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships as she competes in the 3M and platform diving events. The freshman will be the 20th different UH diver in program history to compete at the NCAA Championships.
The NCAA Championships will be held March 20-22 at the University Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn. A total of 41 female student-athletes will compete in the diving championships. Olanski qualified by finishing as the runner up in the platform event during the Zone D Diving Championships to secure one of the final spots.
The 3M event is the last event held on Friday, March 21 and the sixth event starting on Saturday, March 22. The top eight performers will advance to the evening finals on both days.
The London, Ontario native has enjoyed an outstanding freshman campaign as she was a First Team All-Conference performer in the platform and named to the Third Team All-Conference team in the 3M.
ESPN3 will stream finals sessions Friday and Saturday for both championships. Additionally, ESPNU will air a two-hour show at 8 p.m. on April 2 for the women’s championships.
