Diving Adds Two Student-Athletes to 2013-14 Signing Class

    HOUSTON - University of Houston's head diving coach Jane Figueiredo announced the signing of two talented student-athletes in Micaela Bouter and Taylor Olanski on Tuesday afternoon.

    Bouter hails from Johannesburg, South Africa and attended St. Stithians Girls College where she was a two-time South African Open Champion in her age group. As a senior in 2012, Bouter won a senior national competition in the RSA Cup in. She has competed at the FINA Junior World Championships twice while coached by Imraan Mes and Lina Woodard, The incoming freshman was named her school's Sports Woman of the Year and diving captain her junior and senior years. She has a twin sister named Caroline and Micaela will begin classes in the spring of 2014.

    Olanksi, a native of London, Ontario, attended Mother Terresea Catholic Secondary School and competes for Forest City Diving Club. Olanski has been a member of the Canadian Junior National Team since 2010 and has placed high in national and international competitions including her ninth-place performance in the platform at the 2012 FINA Junior World Championships. Olanski was a 2010 Junior National Champion and 2012 Junior National silver medalist while also competing as a 2012 Canadian Olympic Trials Finalist. Olanski's older sister, Torri, is currently a junior on the UH squad.

    The two incoming divers will work with Figueiredo and join the two UH veterans - junior Natasha Burgess and sophomore Danielle Shedd.
