HOUSTON - After helping the University of Houston to wins over Rice and Florida International during the opening weekend of the season, sophomore Kim Eeson was named the Conference USA Swimmer of the Week.

The Harare, Zimbbabwe native won two of her three individual events and she was a member of the winning 800-yard freestyle relay at the Phill Hansel Duals. Eeson's wins came in the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle, while setting a personal best of 57.80 in the 100-yard butterfly.

This is the first career Swimmer of the Week award for Eeson. Taking home Diver of the Week awards was Meghan Coyne of East Carolina.

The Cougars will be back in the pool on Oct. 30 for duals against Duke and Georgia Tech in Durham, N.C. They will then travel to Wilmington, N.C. for duals against UNC-Wilmington and Emory.
