HOUSTON (Oct. 19) - The University of Houston women's swim team will open the 2000-2001 season with a double-dual meet on the road in Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, October 20. The Cougars will face Wright State and meet host LSU at 5:00 p.m. in the LSU Natatorium.

Houston is paced by sophomore sprinter Falon Hopkins, the defending National Independent Conference Champion in the 100-yard butterfly. The Cougars also have four seniors to lead the team in Elizabeth Boyce, Jelena Matovic, Angela Sanchez and Cindy Wolf.

The swim team will have its first home meet on Thursday, November 4. The Cougars will face North Texas at the UH Natatorium.
