Pozdniakova Captures Third-Consecutive C-USA Diver of the Week Honor

IRVING, Texas--Conference USA announced that the University of Houston junior diver Anastasia Pozdniakova won the C-USA Diver of the Week honor for the third-consecutive week and fourth time this season.

The Cougars swept the Phill Hansel Duals Weekend, improving Houston's record to 9-1.

Houston defeated Rice for the second time this season (187-160), along with notching wins over Incarnate Word (275-78), Florida International (247-99) and Vanderbilt (271.50-78.50).

Pozdniakova won the award after being the only diver to exceed 300 points in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. She posted 322.10 points in the 1-meter dive and 389.70 points in the 3-meter.

The Elektrostal, Russia native has received eight weekly honors in her career, tying her for the second-most all-time with former Cougar Anna Keiss (2003-07).

Next Up
Pozdniakova and the rest of the diving team will travel to College Station, Texas to compete in the Texas A&M Diving Invite, Nov. 21-23.
