More than 160 Student-Athletes Named to C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll


Three swimmers from the Texas high school ranks have signed with the University of Houston announced Cougar head swim coach Ginger Hurley. Prep stars Kristin Bay, Amy Duke and Jennifer Pease will join the UH swim team for the 2001-2002 season.

Pease, a native of Kingwood, competes in the middle distance freestyle events. She finished sixth in the state in the 500 for Kingwood High School and also competed for the New Caney Swim Club.

Duke is a freestyle sprinter from Duncanville. She finished 11th in the state in the 200 freestyle for Duncanville High School and also competes for the Southwest Aquatics club team.

Bay is a 5A state qualifier in the freestyle sprints. The native of Tyler, Texas, was 15th in the state meet in the 50 freestyle for Tyler's Robert E. Lee High School. The trio will enroll at UH in the fall of 2001.
