Fall 1999: (Singles) Finished the fall season 4-8 overall... Fared well at the Lady Seminole Fall Classic where she advanced to the quarterfinal round of the tournament... (Doubles) Won the UH Fall Classic Flight #2 Doubles Championship with partner Anne Rapp... Together the duo compiled a 5-3 record overall during the fall season... 1998-99: Sat out of singles competition in the fall while recovering from elbow surgery... Returned to doubles action and competed with partner, Sarah Bolle, to compile a 11-13 overall record... The two also competed in three matches in the ITA Southwest Regionals in Austin, Texas and posted a 2-1 record... 1997-98: Suffered an elbow injury which forced her to miss the entire fall season... Saw limited time in the spring as a result of breaking her left foot while conditioning... Tallied a 3-3 record in dual matches while never losing at home, going 3-0... Triumphed in her first match as a Cougar, defeating Tanya Cornejo of Texas-San Antonio, 6-4, 6-1.

Personal: Born Joanna Louise Cunliffe on May 2, 1980, in Middlesbrough, England... Daughter of John and Judy Cunliffe... Majoring in kinesiology... Also recruited by UAB and South Florida.
