This Year: Will be active primarily in doubles play... life experience has made her mentally tough... following a terrible car accident, made a miraculous return to sport on Oct. 11 at the 2002 Cougar Fall Classic. 2001-02: Given the first-ever “Heart of the Cougar” award... spent season recovering from serious injuries from automobile accident in fall 2001. 2000-01: Played most matches in the No. 4 and No. 5 slot with a record of 1-7 and 3-7, respectively... clinched the deciding match against Tulane... posted a record of 8-4 with Karine Urbin in doubles matches, ranked second in winning percentage on the team with .471... recorded a singles win against Yarmen Fisher of Rice, her first singles win as a Cougar... compiled three straight wins in the UH Fall Tennis Classic to claim the singles and doubles flight C championships. High school: Lettered in tennis at Chiltern Edge/Henley College for coach Nigel Long. Personal: Full name is Sarah Louise Flood... born on January 5, 1982, in Reading, Berkshire, England... nickname is “Floodie”... daughter of Martin and the late Angela Flood... majoring in exercise science... chose to attend UH because of the great tennis and academic programs. |
