Cougar Tennis Team Tops UCF 4-3

ORLANDO - The University of Houston tennis team defeated the University of Central Florida, 4-3, Friday at the UCF Tennis Complex. With the win, Houston improves to 6-6 overall. Freshmen Miranda Foley and Yolandi Terblanche were victorious in the Cougars' No. 1 doubles spot while Sarah Flood and Analia Longoni lost a 9-7 decision to Kristina Lohmos and Anna Westin in No. 3 doubles. Houston rallied on the singles side, winning all but two matches. Longoni picked up a win at No. 1 when Westin was forced to forfeit. Flood clinched the match for the Cougars at the No. 6 spot, getting past Amira Samara, 6-3, 6-3. The Cougars will play their next seven matches at home beginning with a Conference USA contest against Charlotte Thursday at 2 p.m. All matches are played on the John E. Hoff Varsity tennis courts on the UH campus.
