Tennis Clawed By No. 18 Bears
March 10, 2005
WACO, Texas - Playing in its second straight road game, the University of Houston tennis team fell 4-0 to the No. 18 Baylor Bears in Waco, Texas, on Wednesday. With the loss, the Cougars fall to 8-5 on the year while the Bears improve to 10-2 on the season. The Cougars have hit a three-game skid, thanks to the tough schedule the team has faced as of late where the last three straight opponents have held national rankings, Wednesday's match began with the Bears taking the doubles point, and then claiming three singles matches. To help ensure the Bears next match began on time, the remainder of the matches were cancelled. Houston returns home for a Saturday match with Texas A&M, Corpus Christi, at the John E. Hoff Tennis Courts at 10 a.m., on the main campus of the University of Houston.
