HOUSTON - The University of Houston women's tennis team picked up its first Conference USA win of 2003 as it defeated Charlotte 5-2 at the John E. Hoff Varsity tennis courts Wednesday.

Houston dominated the No. 1, 2, 5 and 6 singles spots and picked up wins in the No. 2 and 3 doubles matches to improve its record to 7-6 overall and 1-2 in league play.

The Cougars will continue their eight-match home stand as they face non-conference opponent Northern Arizona March 18 in Houston.
