Tennis Falls In C-USA Opener

FORT WORTH, Texas - In its first Conference USA match of the season, the University of Houston tennis team fell 5-2 to No. 25 TCU in Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday afternoon.

The Cougars (12-7, 0-1) picked up two points in the singles pairings where junior Kami Miller downed the Frogs' (15-2, 1-0) Gloriann Lopec in a 3-6, 6-1, 10-8 battle at the No. 5 spot, while freshman Tiffany McLoughlin won a 6-2, 6-1 match over Lindsay McBride at the No. 6 position.

Houston nearly picked up a third point at the No. 3 spot where junior Yolandi Terblanche puched Ana Cetnik to a three-set match, but fell in the end 6-4, 5-7, 10-3.

The Cougars next travel to Oklahoma to face Tulsa next Saturday, April 9, at noon.
