NEW ORLEANS, La. - The University of Houston women's tennis team defeated Saint Louis 4-1 Saturday in the opening round of the 2003 Conference USA Championships in New Orleans. The third-seed Cougars won the doubles point and Kami Miller clinched the victory for over the No. 13 Billikens with a singles win.

The Cougars (12-8, 2-2 C-USA) will face the winner of today's South Florida/Charlotte match in Round Two Sunday at 3 p.m.
