NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The University of Houston women's tennis team was unable to compete in the final day of the SFA Invite as the tournament was cancelled due to inclement weather.

Dionne Sanders highlighted the opening day of action on Friday by advancing to the singles finals after straight-set wins against opponents from McNeese State and Sam Houston State.

Gabriella Jansson, Celia Fraser and Maja Kazimieruk also each posted a singles victory on Friday, while the duo of Sanders and Jansson also tallied a doubles win.

The Cougars will return to action on Friday at the Rice Fall Invitational.
