Netters Dominate UTSA Inviational

SAN ANTONIO - Over the Halloween Weekend, the Cougar tennis team traveled to San Antonio to participate in the UTSA Women's Tennis Fall Invitational where the team compiled a 22-5 combined record. In doubles action the Cougars were unstoppable, blowing through the 11-team field with an impressive 9-0 record in the doubles pairings and a 13-5 mark in singles action. "I am very pleased with the way our team has improved and performed," said Cougar head coach John Severance. "We are looking to have a good showing at the Cougar Fall Classic this weekend." Participants at the UTSA Invitational included Houston, UTSA, Louisiana-Lafayette, Texas-El Paso, Texas State, Texas-Pan American, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, St. Edward's, Tarleton State, Incarnate Word, Lee Junior College and Tyler Junior College After participating in three tournaments during the fall season, the Cougars will host the Cougar Fall Classic this weekend, Nov. 5-7, in the final invitational of the fall campaign.
