HOUSTON - Celia Fraser and Elena Kordolaimi advanced in singles play to highlight action for the University of Houston Women's Tennis team in a shortened day of action due to inclement weather at John E. Hoff Courts.

Kordolaimi, a sophomore transfer from Lamia, Greece, improved to 7-2 in tournament play with a dominant 6-4, 6-2 victory over Oregon's Patricia Skowronski to advance to Sunday's finals, where she will meet Rice's Dominique Harmath.

Fraser met Denver's Mandy van den Eerenbeemt in the semifinals, posting a 6-3, 6-3 victory to move on to her respective flight title where she will face Rice's Stephanie Nguyen. The junior from Birmingham, U.K., evened her fall tournament record to 5-5 with Saturday's win.

Five Cougars were unable to complete their matches due to rain, and Maja Kazimieruk and Jo Garvey will attempt to join their teammates in singles title matches by resuming play early Sunday morning.

The main parking lot for the tournament is lot 15H, located between the tennis courts and softball stadium, with overflow parking in lot 16D, located on the corner of Elgin and Cullen at the end of the intramural fields.
