Day 1 Of Cougar Fall Classic

HOUSTON - In the first day of the annual Cougar Fall Classic hosted by the University of Houston, the Cougars came away with an impressive start against the eight-team field as the netters posted a 14-1 mark in day one. In doubles action, the Cougars went undefeated with all three doubles pairings winning their opening rounds. The Cougars have now won 12 straight doubles matches. Singles action was equally as impressive where Houston posted an 11-1 mark against the tournament field. In the White and Blue Flights, Houston went undefeated as freshman Sacha Gumbs, and senior Diana Martin won both of their matches in the Blue Flight and sophomore Kami Miller and Yolandi Terblanche each claimed both of theirs. Playing in the Red Flight, senior Biljana Dimovska won her opening matches and teammate freshman Tiffany McLoughlin easily won her first match, but fell in a tough three-set.
